The Art of the Day: Cultivating a Seamless Wedding Celebration

It’s officially wedding season! Across all of our locations, our florists are putting the final touches on wedding florals for weekends filled with celebration. As florists, we know that a lot of planning goes into the big day. Planning a wedding is an incredibly exciting journey, but we know the finer details can feel a bit overwhelming. Whether you are tying the knot on the coast, on the prairies, or in the city, there are a few universal elements that can elevate your big day from beautiful to seamless.

To help navigate the planning process, our team has gathered a list of things to consider for a seamless wedding day.

Make a Statement with Your Signage

Clear signage helps your guests find their way around the venue. Think about where signage will be placed and make sure directions are clear and explicitly point to the ceremony space, restrooms, cocktail hour, and reception.

Our tip: Make sure your signage is secure to stand up against a windy day!

Appoint a Day-Of Captain

If you don’t have a professional wedding planner, you need to designate someone to lead the day.

Our tip: Appoint a trusted organized friend or family member (who’s not in the immediate wedding party) to act as the point person for vendors, timing, and emergencies.

Prioritize Your Guest Experience

What will your guests be doing between the “I Do’s” and dinner? If there is a gap of an hour or two, ensure they are taken care of.

Our tip: A well-timed cocktail hour with light bites keeps the energy high and the guests happy while you slip away for photos. If the time gap is longer than two hours, have a list of recommended sites to visit and places to eat in the area.

Sunlight Hours

The sun can dictate your entire wedding timeline, especially when it comes to photography.

Our tip: Work with your photographer to plan where the sun will be during your ceremony. Visit the venue during the time of day and season your ceremony will take place so you can visualize the kind of sunlight you’ll have on the day!

Have a Backup Plan

No matter how much we plan, Mother Nature has her own agenda.

Our tip: Have a plan B. No matter how much we love outdoor weddings, if the weather doesn’t cooperate, plan for an indoor space where you and your guests can comfortably enjoy your ceremony. Coordinate with your venue for backup options in case of weather interruptions!

Sometimes planning can feel overwhelming, but remember that being prepared means that there is more time to enjoy the little details and special moments with your friends and family on the big day!
